Plitvice National Park is one of the most famous sites in Croatia.  It consists of a several gorgeous turquoise lakes at different elevations and the subsequent waterfalls that are created as the lakes flow into each other.  You can take boats to different parts of the park and there is a tram that runs to a few of the vista points.  We spent the day hiking around and were impressed by the unreal color of the lakes but we were surprised that there wasn’t really much wildlife.  It was a great day of hiking afterward we (Amanda, because she is the best at driving a manual) drove to Pag island on the coast.
