After leaving Yudunaka, we made a quick stop at Obuse, a tiny town that is famous for being the last place where the famous artist Hokusai lived.  There is a nice museum with replicas of his famous Angry Waves and Phoenix wood block prints.  We also had our first oyaki buns, which have delicious fillings like chestnut, pumpkin, greens, or mushroom.

Then we made another quick stop in Nagano to see Zenkoji.  We stuffed our backpacks in a coin locker at the train station and then ran to see this temple in the rain.  It is one of the most famous in Japan and gets about 4 million visitors a year.
